"Winter is Here-Thanksgiving snows yield 5 plus Feet"

This season is off  to the best start in years. The Southern Alps have been hammered with the town of Briançon receiving 3 feet of snow since the end of November.   The ski area of Serre-Chevalier above Briançon has received over 5 feet of snow.   With most to all of the resort scheduled to open on Dec 10, 2005 this will be the best opening in years.

Resorts in the Northern Alps such as the Three Valleys have reported about 3 feet of fresh snow during the past few days.  Any location above 1000m is buried in snow.  This includes all alpine ski resorts in Savoie, and Haute-Savoie.
